REQUEST FOR

OWNER’S PROJECT MANAGEMENT SERVICES –

WAYLAND HIGH SCHOOL

 

 

The Town of Wayland, through the High School Building Committee, acting on behalf of the Wayland School Committee, is soliciting proposals for a qualified owner’s project manager as defined in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 44A˝ for the design, construction, addition to and/or renovation of Wayland High School on Old Connecticut Path in  Wayland, Massachusetts.  The scope of services in the contract to be awarded at this time consists of owner’s project management services for the project’s feasibility study and schematic design phase only. During these phases, individuals/firms will be required to oversee the designer’s work as it relates to the quality of design, efficiency of design and cost effectiveness.  Subject to approval of the project by the Massachusetts School Building Authority and continued function authorized by the Town of Wayland through the Wayland School Committee, the contract between the Town of Wayland and the Owner’s Project Manager may be amended to include continued project management services through design development, construction documents, bid and award, construction and final closeout of the potential project.

 

A Request for Services (RFS) is available from the Office of the School Business Administrator Joy Buhler, Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, Massachusetts on or after Wednesday, June 25, 2008, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (Boston time).   Preliminary programming, needs assessment and other background information for this project have been conducted by HMFH Architects, Inc. and are available for review at the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, Massachusetts or on the web site at http://www.waylandschoolcommittee.org/whs/hsbc/index.htm.   Ms. Buhler is the contact person for this RFS.

 

A voluntary briefing session and site inspection for prospective Owner’s Project Managers will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. (Boston time) in the Little Theatre at Wayland High School, 264 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland, MA.

 

Non-price proposals are to be submitted no later than Friday, July 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. (Boston time) to the Office of the Superintendent, Wayland Town Building, 41 Cochituate Road, Wayland, MA  01778.  Proposals submitted by fax or by electronic mail will not be considered. 

 

Fee for services through the feasibility study and schematic design phases will be negotiated, with the Owner’s Project Manager providing pricing information for all phases specified in the contract at the time of fee negotiation.  Contract services will begin immediately.  The Town of Wayland reserves the right to waive any informality in the proposal process or to reject any and all proposals or to make the award deemed in its own discretion to be in the best interest of the Wayland Public Schools.
