Update
Week
of 5/30/2011
The following is an overview of
construction activities for the coming week:
The site
will be closed for the Memorial Day weekend from Sat 5/28-Mon 5/30 as
well as Sunday 6/5 for graduation. The site will be open on Sat 6/4 for work at
the Fieldhouse.
Buildings
A & B - Construction activities
this week will be similar to last week, with exterior metal siding, curtain
wall, interior drywall at both buildings and MEP rough-in. Interior
finish work continues as well with painting, ceramic
tile and acoustic tile ceilings. We have also started elevator
construction at Building B.
Wastewater
treatment plant - Exterior
masonry wall construction will continue. With the road at the corner near
the Math/English building being split, we remind drivers and
pedestrians to be extra careful when moving through this area. We have added signage to help with this. In addition,
we will continue to work in the area between the treatment plant and the
baseball field to prepare for the construction of the new leaching field.
Fieldhouse - Skylight replacement is complete
and the final layer of roofing is being installed. We are building interior
walls and installing rough MEP systems in the locker rooms. In
addition, we continue to construct the metal work at the exterior roof overhang
and window openings. The Fieldhouse will continue
to be off-limits to non-construction personnel throughout the construction
phase. Construction fencing is in place to secure this work area.
Temporary
construction lighting will NOT be shut off at night; the lights will
remain on to deter trespassing and vandalism.
Looking
ahead to Summer 2011, we are planning the following activities to start as soon
as school ends:
- Pool parking lot redevelopment, this parking lot will be closed for
construction for the duraction of the summer break
- Site utility services under the driveway up to the wastewater treatment plant
- this work will require us to close the driveway and any access to the rear
parking lots for most of the summer break
We apologize for any inconvenience
resulting from these activities.
Regards,
