Wayland High School Construction Update

Week of 5/9/2011

The following is an overview of construction activities for the coming week:

The site will be closed on Saturday 5/7/2011 for SATs (good luck!) but open on Saturday 5/14/2011

Buildings A & B - Construction activities this week will be similar to last week, with exterior masonry and metal siding. curtain wall at Building B, interior drywall at both buildings and MEP rough-in. Interior finish work has begun; we have started painting and ceramic tile and are delivering acoustic tile ceiling grid materials next week.

Wastewater treatment plant  -    Exterior masonry wall construction will continue as well as interior under slab conduit installation. With the road at the corner near the Math/English building being split, we remind drivers and pedestrians to be extra careful when moving through this area.

Fieldhouse  - Skylight replacement is ongoing  as well as exterior soffit framing.  We will also place concrete for the lower level locker room floor slab during the week. We are also framing interior walls and installing rough MEP systems. The Fieldhouse will continue to be off-limits to non-construction personnel  throughout the construction phase. Construction fencing is in place to secure this work area.

Temporary construction lighting will NOT be shut off at night; the lights will remain on to deter trespassing and vandalism.

Looking ahead to Summer 2011, we are planning the following activities to start as soon as school ends:

                - Pool parking lot redevelopment, this parking lot will be closed for construction for the duration of the summer break

                - Site utility services under the driveway up to the wastewater treatment plant - this work will require us to close the driveway and any access to the rear parking lots for most of the summer break

We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from these activities.

Regards,
