Wayland High School Building Project

Construction Update week of 12-13-2010

The following is an overview of construction activities for  the coming week:

. We are working on Saturday 12/11 and likely on Saturday 12/18

. We plan to place concrete at the ground floor slab in Building B on Monday and again on either Wed or Thurs; logistics and trucking similar to prior concrete placements.  And again, concrete finishing will continue until approximately 8:30 pm both nights.

. Temporary construction lighting will generally be left on at all times for site safety and security purposes.  We can add shields if required if the lights prove to be a nuisance for anyone.  Please let us know if there are any problems.

.  Other construction activities this week will be similar to last week, including exterior wall framing, roof blocking, steel welding and bolting and installation of underground utilities. The utility work will involve periodic vibration due to soil compaction equipment.

. Roofing materials will arrive on Tuesday and Wednesday via several large trucks scheduled to avoid high school traffic as alway.

. A temporary heating system is in place at Building B and will run continually.  We installed a sound baffle wall alongside the heating unit to reduce the nuisance to the neighbors.
