Wayland High School Building Project
Construction Update week of 11-8-2010
The following is an overview of construction
activities for the coming week:
Saturday 11/6 - We
are NOT working this Saturday.
Steel erection will continue throughout next
week at both buildings. As
everyone can see, things have taken shape quickly!
The work day
for steel will continue to run until 4:30 pm
typically. Steel deliveries will arrive daily via one to two flat-bed trailers, typically between 8 and 9 am.
Our first concrete slab placement is
scheduled for Tuesday 11/9. This will involve approximately 240
cubic yards of concrete being pumped to the west end of the 2nd floor
of Building B. A total of 24 concrete trucks will arrive
on site in intervals throughout the morning. Trucking should be complete at mid-day and finishing of the slabs will continue
into the evening until approximately 8 pm.
The site will be open on Thursday, Veteran's
Day.
Underground site utility work
will continue daily within the construction site. This will
involve periodic vibration due to soil compaction equipment.
Soils continue to be trucked to/from the gravel pit
adjacent to the lacrosse field, so please be aware of truck traffic in that
area. Everyone should keep in mind that the gravel pit area is off limits
to non-construction personnel. We have posted signage to that
effect. Trucking is prohibited after 2:30 pm so that students can
get to the field
We will be installing masonry at the faŤade
mock ups near the south wall of administration building .
We apologize for any inconvenience resulting
from these activities.
Regards -
