Wayland High School Building Project

Construction Update

Week of September 27, 2010

The following is an overview of construction activities for the week of Sept. 27, 2010:

The access ramp next to the trailer classrooms is complete.

Underground site utility work will continue daily within the construction site, specifically in the areas closest to the History Building, Administration Building, and near the construction trailers.  This will involve periodic vibration due to soil compaction equipment.

Throughout the week, concrete foundation construction for the administration building will continue, much the same as it has for the past several weeks.  Daily concrete placements and ongoing footing excavation and backfill can be expected.

Soils continue to be trucked to/from the gravel pit adjacent to the lacrosse field, so please be aware of truck traffic in that area.  Everyone should keep in mind that the gravel pit area is off limits to non-construction personnel.  We have posted signage to that effect.  Trucking is prohibited after 2:30 pm so that students can get to the field.

We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from these activities.

Regards -

Chris
