2010-05-17: Please come to Town Meeting TONIGHT to vote in favor of education technology budget request
The School Committee asks that residents vote in favor of the education technology budget request at Town Meeting TONIGHT (Wayland High School Field House, 7:30pm). This request is for $600,000 as approved by the Finance Committee. The planned breakdown of the education technology spending is as follows (details are available in our 5/6 newsletter available at http://www.waylandschoolcommittee.org/newsletter.htm).
  1. Completion of fiber installation: $100,000
  2. Data center/network expansion: $100,000
  3. Teacher Computer Initiative (TCI): $150,000
  4. Replacement of obsolete computers: $225,000
  5. Student Computer Initiative (SCI) pilot: $25,000
