2009-12-04: Developing the 2010-2011 school budget
The School Committee invites the community to participate in its budget development process for the 2010-2011 school year.
- At its next meeting on December 7th, Superintendent Burton will present to the Committee
his recommended budget for 2010-2011 based on the Finance Committee guideline and
input from the building principals and key administrators.
- On December 21st, the Committee will continue to discuss and review the Superintendent’s budget.
- The School Committee will hold a public forum on January 4th for the community to ask questions
and provide input on the budget proposal.
- The Committee will then conduct several work sessions in January during which it will ask questions,
debate priorities, and potentially make changes for submission of an operating and a capital budget
to the Finance Committee later that month.
The School Committee encourages all community members to be a part of this process by attending
these meetings or contacting any of the Committee members with feedback. We appreciate your support.
