2009-02-26: School bus fee for 2009-2010 school year As part of its recommended budget, the School Committee voted to implement a school bus fee for the 2009-2010 school year. The Committee agreed to charge a $180 annual bus fee to students in grade K-6 who live 2 miles or less from their school and to ALL students in grades 7-12. This fee structure is in line with most of our surrounding and peer districts. As a consequence of this decision, the School Committee has proposed changes to its Student Transportation Policy (EEAA) to become effective July 1, 2009. Citizens who wish to review the current and proposed wording of this policy are encouraged to view them online at http://www.wayland.k12.ma.us/district/district_info/school_committee/policy/contents.htm (temporarily unavailable as of this writing) or visit the Superintendent’s office. Wayland residents and other interested parties are encouraged to offer spoken and/or written comments and reactions to the School Committee regarding the proposed policy changes during the public comment period at our meetings on March 12 and 23. At the March 23rd meeting, it is the intent of the School Committee to take action on the revisions to Policy EEAA. Our upcoming meeting schedule is as follows (all meetings begin at 7:00pm). Please note that meeting dates, times, and locations are subject to change.
