2008-02-13: School configuration decision now expected for February 25 This past Monday, February 11, the School Committee conducted a 2-hour public forum to hear additional input on the selection of Happy Hollow or Loker elementary schools to house kindergarten-only for the 2008-2009 school year. Following the forum, the Committee discussed and analyzed all of the information received to date. The Committee is waiting for just a few pieces of information to complete its evaluation of the two schools, most notably the transportation analysis, which is proving to be more complex than originally expected. The Committee expects to receive this information shortly before its next scheduled meeting, set for Monday, February 25 (7:30pm, Wayland Town Building, first floor Large Hearing Room or second floor School Committee Room, TBD), at which time the Committee plans to make its final decision. Also, please note that the Committee has finalized its 2008-2009 failed override cut list, and that the school comparison document has been updated based on the Committee's 2/11 discussion. Thank you for your attention, Wayland School Committee www.waylandschoolcommittee.org and attendance at public meetings and forums (schedule).
