2007-10-25: Two fall public forum opportunities
It's just over a month and a half into the school year--we hope that the startup has been smooth for everyone.

We have two fall public forum opportunities to announce (details below). In addition to regular agenda items, the committee will present information and conduct a discussion on topics including the following. Interested residents and parents might think about how they would answer the questions below for discussion at the two forum events.

Q: How would you prioritize academics, arts, athletics, and other co-curricular activities?

Q: What features of a high school are most important to you: adequate general classroom space, science space, information technology, campus versus single building, and so on?

Q: How would you rank the following near-term initiatives: closing the achievement gap, a comprehensive auditing of technology, introduction of Chinese language instruction, revitalizing physical education/health/wellness, and making our schools more environmentally friendly?

Q: What might you add or replace on the list of initiatives above?

Q: What do you think are important considerations as the district evolves its Long Range Strategic Plan?

If you have input on these questions but are unable to attend either of the meetings, please send your feedback to the School Committee at info @ waylandschoolcommittee.org.
