2007-05-25: End of School Year Wrap-up This newsletter contains information on: 1. Thank you for your support of our operating and capital budget items 2. Administrative hires in place for 2007-2008 school year 3. Long Range Strategic Planning to be part of 6/18 School Committee "retreat" 4. Thanks to high school students for conducting community survey 1. Thank you for your support of our operating and capital budget items We are extremely appreciative that Wayland residents supported our public schools by approving our operating and capital budget requests for the 2007-2008 school year. In particular, approval of the Happy Hollow School window project and funds to allow us to continue working to improve Wayland High School will allow us to offer facilities appropriate to the education of the town's children. 2. Administrative hires in place for 2007-2008 school year We are pleased to announce that the four open administration positions have been filled for next year. Please help us in welcoming the following additions to the Wayland Public Schools team.
The School Committee will hold its annual "retreat" at the Public Safety Building meeting room on Monday, June 18th, beginning at 6:00pm. The Committee will receive several end-of-year reports and continue its Long Range Strategic Planning conversation, hearing from the "Strategic Planning" and "Measures Against Mission" goal teams. 4. Thanks to high school students for conducting community survey As part of the Long Range Strategic Planning effort, the "Community Support" goal team conducted a telephone survey to gather input on how best to partner with the community. The School Committee thanks the following Wayland High School students for making the phone calls: Daniel Entrup, Hannah Greenfeld, Matt McConnell, Ben Mesnick, Amanda Morss, Gillian Pennington, Mike Priscella, Shawheen Saffari, and Jackie Wogan. Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 4th, at 7:30pm in the School Committee meeting room on the second floor of the Town Building (full meeting schedule).
